A little house cleaning
Posted by Grant

Following my move to NetKeepers hosting, I had a lot of links and content go down for two reasons:

1) Case sensitivity on the new server
2) All of my ASP scripts are now useless

I've just gone through and fixed most problems caused by number 1, and will be learning either CF or PHP (most likely the latter, but I welcome comments) to fix number 2.

The 1000+ of you who tried to download gPathFinder while the link was broken will be happy to learn it is now back up. Grab it from the gskinner.com site in lab / source / FLA / pathfinder.

Learn CF -- it's a great language.

I second Geoff's comment. CF is so simple and elegant. I used to develop in ASP 2.0 but have now moved entirely to CFMX.

I third Geoff's comment. Coldfusion may not be as in or hip as PHP but it is definately easier to learn, and easier to code in.

I have coded in all three (ASP, PHP and CFMX).

hair here
can't comment about PHP as I have never used it.
but i love CFMX, components and built in Flash Remoting are nice things for sure..

well, since there are no php takers here... Learn PHP! for obvious reasons ;)

since when did we do everything just because it's spoon fed? ;)

seriously though - cf looks great to me, but i really like php. Even with today's muddied waters, I still believe in Open Source.
