I'm thrilled to be participating in the Web Flash Festival at the infamous Pompidou Centre in Paris this Saturday. I will be involved in a number of ways. I will be giving a talk entitled "Playing With Yourself (for fun and profit)" about the professional benefits of doing experimental work, and exploring the foundation of how my webcam experiments work. I judged the experimental category, and will present the award (my first time presenting an award... I feel so glamourous). I'll also be setting up Installation Incomplet in the Centre with some new pieces that attendees will be able to play with.
I'm really looking forwards to meeting some of the French community at this event, even with my embarrassingly poor French (parlez vous en Anglais, s'il vous plait?). I'm also looking forward to seeing André Michelle again, his work is always very inspiring.

True, there is not so much events like that, yesterday I was talking with Moses Gunesh, he is in Barcelona right now and he was telling me that he really regret no knowing sooner about this event...well, after France there is Germany event

Thanks Grant for your presence. It was nice to hear you "live" talking about your work.
One of the best moment since the first Flash event in Centre Pompidou in 2002.

That was really terrific!
Thanks for your presence and the show that was more than interesting, not only for me, but also for non-flashers friends of mine that love numeric image treatments and filters.
Please continue to live with passion, my greetings for your wife for being so patient ;)

Hi Grant
I'm the one who came at the end of the conference, to tell that you always work faster than me =)
Like some people, I was a little bit disappointed by the talk as it was not technical enough, but I also understand how hard it must be for you to have something interesting but also understandable by novice or beginning programmers. In addition, you didn't have much time, as half of the talk was for translation (thanks thibault ^^)Anyway, as usual, your work was great =)
I just have a technical question : when you're building an experiment like the varicose-G or the branching tree, do you use some physical/biological models like Lindenmayer sytems or do you only use randomness in your variables?
Thanks

Hi Grant, I found your talk very interesting. I've never thought about flash interacting with webcams, so thank you very much. New ideas are running into my mind yet.
I've a pic of us, if you wanna have it, let me know an email address where to send.
Again congratulations for your works and for your passion.
See you, maybe in Canada :) bye
